Our Participants

Matt Bui is a recent graduate from UCLA with a B.A. in History and Minor in Entrepreneurship and has been a GEI participant since the Fall of 2020. Ever since joining the initiative, he has been able to secure multiple roles within Fremantle and NBCUniversal, while also participating in the Academy Gold Rising program. Each of these experiences has helped him broaden his network and gain mentors, as well as expose him to the various fields within entertainment such as production, distribution, and streaming. With guidance from the GEI team throughout these extraordinary times, he has been able to navigate the industry and figure out his early career plan and long-term goals, which include supporting and uplifting diverse voices throughout his journey. Thanks to GEI, Matt has recently accepted a full-time offer to join MGM Studios as an Assistant to the EVP and SVP of International TV Distribution, where he will be supporting the administrative, contracts, and sales teams in their day-to-day work.
