GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with Signature Post, which is a post production studio that specializes in a variety of services, such as sound design and editorial, re-recording and mixing, ADR and voice over recording, and foley services. This event will include multiple panel discussions from industry experts, networking, and a Q & A session. Panelists will include professionals that have worked on projects such as Poker Face, Ozark, Lessons in Chemistry, The Boys, The Revenant, and more!
GEI co-hosted an info session with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and its Rewrite the Future Program for an in-person LA event. NRDC gave a Climate Storytelling 101 presentation, interactive breakdowns, and have an audience Q&A! This event was ideal for those interested in writing and includes insight on how to incorporate themes such as climate consciousness and sustainability into scripts for film and television.
In collaboration with Disney Ad Sales, GEI will be co-hosting an in-person professional development event and info session about Ad Sales careers in NYC, on Wednesday, March 13. NYC and NJ participants are encouraged to attend, please keep an eye out for more information and the RSVP form!
On May 16, 2024, the Entertainment Equity Alliance brought together thousands of young adults, high school, and college students to experience a one-day, free interactive event at Expo Park in Los Angeles. The Expo featured Arts, Media, and Entertainment workforce training organizations, post-secondary career education programs, labor union training programs, and employer-sponsored internship and early career programs.
GEI & the Local 800 Art Directors Guild co-hosted an info session discussing the skills needed to succeed in Local 800, the crafts and careers possible in the ADG.
In collaboration with GEI, Paramount hosted a full day summit on their Burbank lot! This event included a professional development workshop, meet & greet panel with the Nickelodeon talent development teams, a speed networking activity with Paramount employees, and studio tours.
In collaboration with Goldcrest Post, GEI co-hosted an in-person info session in New York City that focused on Picture and Sound in Post Production.
GEI co-hosted an in-person info session with Magnolia Pictures in NYC, introducing participants to independent film distribution and marketing.
GEI participants got the opportunity to visit Verve for a soft-skills focused event. The event included a panel of Verve agents and a "How to Pitch Yourself" segment led by one of Verve's Managing Partners. Participants also had the chance to hear from Verve Founders Bryan Besser and Adam Levine.
GEI's 2024 Annual Bootcamp was a day-long professional development event that included industry panels and a lunch networking session with company partners. Panels covered scripted development, unscripted development, animation, publicity/PR, and talent representation.
