GEI & The MBS Group: LA Production Assistant Training Weekend 2

GEI and The MBS Group have crafted a four-day introductory Production Assistant training for participants in the Los Angeles area. This training will be conducted over two weekends and is designed for participants who have little to no PA experience and would like to be prepared for future PA placement opportunities.

GEI x NRDC Climate Change NYC Storytelling Event

As part of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC)'s Rewrite the Future initiative, NRDC will be facilitating an in-person Climate Storytelling 101 workshop. ABOUT NRDC: NRDC works to safeguard the earth—its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends. Rewrite the Future aims to enlist the power of storytelling to help us turn the climate crisis around. NRDC offers a range of support to encourage more, varied, and compelling climate stories in entertainment, including content experts and story consulting, events and workshops, and help with new project development.

GEI x Multitude Nonfiction Docs 101 Event

GEI will be co-hosting with Multitude Films for an in-person NYC event. Open with a panel presentation by Multitude Films' Vice President, Anya Rous, Head of Production, Sweta Vohra, and Producer, Colleen Cassingham. Panelists will share Multitude's origin story and approach as a production company and speak about their roles on the team. Next, they will share examples of productions Multitude has worked on, touching on the production process from development to distribution, and showing trailers/film clips.

Sony Pictures TV – Nonfiction Los Angeles Event

GEI is partnering with Sony Pictures Television - Nonfiction (SPTN) for an event at their LA offices. Speakers will provide insights into nonfiction entertainment as well as professional development and networking opportunities.

Netflix Unscripted Casting Workshop

GEI is partnering with Netflix to host an in-person Los Angeles workshop for a deep dive into unscripted casting.

2023 GEI Production Bootcamp

In partnership with Netflix, the GEI Production Bootcamp is a daylong workshop that provides entry-level production assistant training, insight into various aspects of production, and networking opportunities.

GEI x Signature Post

GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with Signature Post, which is a post production studio that specializes in a variety of services, such as sound design and editorial, re-recording and mixing, ADR and voice over recording, and foley services. This event will include multiple panel discussions from industry experts, networking, and a Q & A session. Panelists will include professionals that have worked on projects such as Poker Face, Ozark, Lessons in Chemistry, The Boys, The Revenant, and more!

GEI x NRDC LA

GEI co-hosted an info session with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and its Rewrite the Future Program for an in-person LA event. NRDC gave a Climate Storytelling 101 presentation, interactive breakdowns, and have an audience Q&A! This event was ideal for those interested in writing and includes insight on how to incorporate themes such as climate consciousness and sustainability into scripts for film and television.

GEI x UTA NYC

GEI co-hosted an in-person event in NYC with United Talent Agency (UTA,). The event included a soft skills panel, followed by an info session led by UTA recruiters.

GEI x Disney NYC

In collaboration with Disney Ad Sales, GEI will be co-hosting an in-person professional development event and info session about Ad Sales careers in NYC, on Wednesday, March 13. NYC and NJ participants are encouraged to attend, please keep an eye out for more information and the RSVP form!

GEI x DreamWorks

GEI co-hosted an in-person event with DreamWorks in Los Angeles. This event emphasized soft skills training, specifically those crucial for navigating internships and early careers. Additionally, there was a panel featuring former interns who have successfully transitioned to full-time positions at DreamWorks. Attendees had the opportunity to engage in discussions about their journeys at DWA and the skills that contributed to their success.
