GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with the Disney Professional Internship Program and Disney Campus Recruitment team. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a resume and interview skills workshop as well as listen to a panel of Disney Emerging Talent that will include Interns & Entry-Level Employees. This in-person site visit will take place on Wednesday, August 17 from 1 PM - 3:30 PM.
GEI will be hosting an orientation session to provide a full scope of our program offerings for current participants. In this virtual session, you’ll have a chance to meet our staff, learn what it means to be in GEI, how our corporate/submission process works, and how to connect further with our team to best help prepare you for your job/internship search. This session will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM PT via Zoom.
GEI participants will have the opportunity to meet with folks at UTA for a mock interview session. Attendees will participate in various rounds of mock interview questions to practice and prepare them for the interview stage in the job search process. This event will take place on Thursday, September 15th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM PM PT via Zoom.
In collaboration with GEI, Vendetta Entertainment will be hosting a Directors Treatment workshop. The workshop will focus on both advertising and narrative content (features, shorts, docs, new media) and enable participants to explore the possibility to create Director treatments for themselves as creators or for commercial pitches.
GEI will be hosting an in-person event with Banijay Americas and Truly Original in New York City. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about both the unscripted and scripted worlds and hear from industry professionals and other special guests!
GEI’s production bootcamp is a daylong workshop to provide an intensive entry-level production assistant training, insight into various aspects of production, and creative networking opportunities.
Attendees will meet professionals from Paramount Pictures Studios as they share their non-traditional career paths into entertainment! Hear their stories, ask questions and learn how they overcame difficulties and persevered toward their professional goals.
The GEI team will be leading a resume workshop for participants interested in receiving tips and tricks on how to polish their resume.
GEI’s sister organization, Creative Ladder, is hosting an event called “Breaking Into Filmmaking as a Creator of Color” with special guest Spike Lee! He will be joined on the virtual stage by three of today's most talented rising commercial directors: Joshua Kissi, Bethany Mollenkof, and Ritesh Gupta. They'll share their advice on getting started in filmmaking, turning it into a career, and making the most of your first breaks, among several other topics.
This panel will feature executives and industry professionals who worked on the John Wick film series and provide insight into their career journeys and share advice for those entering the industry.
GEI will be co-hosting a virtual production assistant training session with Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative Production Assistant Intensive Program. The training will have former Half Initiative trainees share advice about what skills you need as a PA and what the day-to-day production experience is like.
