Attendees will meet professionals from Paramount Pictures Studios as they share their non-traditional career paths into entertainment! Hear their stories, ask questions and learn how they overcame difficulties and persevered toward their professional goals.
The GEI team will be leading a resume workshop for participants interested in receiving tips and tricks on how to polish their resume.
GEI’s sister organization, Creative Ladder, is hosting an event called “Breaking Into Filmmaking as a Creator of Color” with special guest Spike Lee! He will be joined on the virtual stage by three of today's most talented rising commercial directors: Joshua Kissi, Bethany Mollenkof, and Ritesh Gupta. They'll share their advice on getting started in filmmaking, turning it into a career, and making the most of your first breaks, among several other topics.
This panel will feature executives and industry professionals who worked on the John Wick film series and provide insight into their career journeys and share advice for those entering the industry.
GEI will be co-hosting a virtual production assistant training session with Ryan Murphy's Half Initiative Production Assistant Intensive Program. The training will have former Half Initiative trainees share advice about what skills you need as a PA and what the day-to-day production experience is like.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the script to screen process from panelists and be able to network as well.
GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event at the NYC WME offices to hear from professionals at the talent agency and gain insight into representing clients across a multitude of positions in entertainment.
GEI will be hosting a virtual Orientation and Resume Workshop for new participants. Participants will have the opportunity to learn tips and tricks on how to improve their resume as well as engage in peer-to-peer feedback through breakout sessions. During orientation, participants will hear from the GEI team about program offerings and how to prepare for the job search process.
GEI's annual bootcamp, which is in its sixth year, is a daylong workshop that provides targeted professional development training, company partner panels and guest speakers, and networking opportunities for our participants.
GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with the Sony Pictures Television - Nonfiction (SPTN) team at their New York City offices. Speakers will share their experiences working in nonfiction entertainment, including their career journeys and their current day-to-day responsibilities at their respective companies. Following the panel, attendees will participate in a professional development workshop and group networking sessions with representatives from the company.
GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event at the Anomaly offices in NYC to learn more about the projects the creative agency develops and gain insight from a panel of Creative and Production professionals.
