GEI x Management 360: Interview Skills Workshop

GEI will host an Interview Skills Zoom Workshop with Management 360 for participants to refine their interview skills. The session will feature invaluable information on how to land a mailroom position, as well as other entry-level/internship roles in entertainment. Following the Q&A, attendees will be put into pre-assigned breakout rooms with representatives from Management 360 or GEI for mock interviews. The event will be Wednesday, February 23 from 5:30 PM to 6:40 PM PST via Zoom.

Renee Freedman & Company Coaching Webinar

GEI in partnership with Renee Freedman and Company provides GEI participants with career coaching opportunities. Coaching is dialogue between two people (a coach and coachee) in which an issue or topic brought up by the coachee is discussed and the coach listens, asks questions, and possibly provides observations and some feedback. The event will be Wednesday, March 2 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM PST via Zoom.

Banijay Americas Site Visit

GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with company partner, Banijay Americas. This event will take place on site at the Banijay Americas offices, where participants will attend moderated discussions with various employees from the company about unscripted development and how to get started in the industry. The event will be held in-person on Friday, April 22 from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM PST.

GEI Annual Bootcamp

This full-day event will provide targeted professional development training, networking opportunities, and panel discussions with industry professionals, guest speakers, and GEI alumni. The event will be on Saturday, June 25 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT, both in-person in Los Angeles and virtually through Hopin.

Q&A with Producer Lee Eisenberg

GEI will host a moderated Q&A with Producer Lee Eisenberg (Apple TV+ Little America) for participants to learn more about Lee’s career journey and gain insight on invaluable skills to have in the entertainment industry. The event will be Tuesday, July 12 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM PST via Zoom.

American Horror Stories Prop Workshop: Part 1

GEI and Ryan Murphy’s Half Initiative will host a virtual two-part Prop Department Workshop with “American Horror Stories” Prop Master Mikey Trudel. Mikey will share his journey of breaking into the union and working his way up to Props Master on top television shows (American Horror Stories, GLOW, Westworld) and films (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent). Additionally, he will teach a workshop on how he breaks down a scene, preps for an episode, chooses props, has unique props made, and collaborates with directors on their creative process. He will present a scene study with scenes from American Horror Stories and walk through his prop deck, teaching how to make difficult scenes successful.

Anomaly Site Visit

GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with company partner, Anomaly. This site visit will take place at the Anomaly offices, where participants will learn more about the creative advertising world. The event will be held on Thursday, July 28.

Disney Site Visit

GEI will be co-hosting an in-person event with the Disney Professional Internship Program and Disney Campus Recruitment team. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a resume and interview skills workshop as well as listen to a panel of Disney Emerging Talent that will include Interns & Entry-Level Employees.  This in-person site visit will take place on Wednesday, August 17 from 1 PM - 3:30 PM.

GEI Orientation

GEI will be hosting an orientation session to provide a full scope of our program offerings for current participants. In this virtual session, you’ll have a chance to meet our staff, learn what it means to be in GEI, how our corporate/submission process works, and how to connect further with our team to best help prepare you for your job/internship search. This session will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM PT via Zoom.

UTA Mock Interview Session

GEI participants will have the opportunity to meet with folks at UTA for a mock interview session. Attendees will participate in various rounds of mock interview questions to practice and prepare them for the interview stage in the job search process. This event will take place on Thursday, September 15th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM PM PT via Zoom.

Vendetta Entertainment Directors Treatment Workshop

In collaboration with GEI, Vendetta Entertainment will be hosting a Directors Treatment workshop. The workshop will focus on both advertising and narrative content (features, shorts, docs, new media) and enable participants to explore the possibility to create Director treatments for themselves as creators or for commercial pitches.
