Group Effort has provided me with tools such as networking opportunities, professional development workshops, career coaching, and access to media panels, where I have gained powerful advice and insights. Group Effort has been nothing but a supportive space from the start of my undergraduate journey to my communications career today.
The entertainment world is so daunting, and Group Effort makes entering it much less of a challenge.
The partnership between Columbia College Hollywood and Group Effort has been an unbelievable gift for our students who want to break into the entertainment and creative industries. Group Effort has provided tools and opportunities that have far surpassed expectations which has helped launch our students careers and changed their lives in ways that they never could have dreamed possible. Group Effort has opened the doors for internships at top tier companies of which many have turned into permanent entry level positions, jump-starting our students’ entertainment industry journey.
Group Effort is providing the stability needed to guarantee that our participants are not only getting more opportunities, but also are able to adapt to an ever changing landscape to build lasting careers in entertainment.
Making a film is a group effort, but for entirely too long that group has systemically excluded Black, Indigenous, people of color and several other underrepresented communities. This is a global problem which will not be fixed overnight, but change can start locally and immediately.
